Gallbladder Flush
The Gallbladder Flush can be done in 3 days or a weekend.
Be sure to do a colon cleanse before beginning the gallbladder cleanse. Getting a colema or colonic beforehand would be helpful.
Day 1: Drink apple juice all day along with 6 to 9 Hydrangea capsules. Eat only applesauce, pears, pear juice, prunes or figs, optional. If apple juice is too sweet, such as for those with hypoglycemia, you can use grapefruit juice instead. The problem with that is that grapefruit juice does not have malic acid that is in the apple. So if you go with grapefruit juice, take Fibralgia which contains both malic acid and magnesium which help with stone softening.
Day 2: Do the same as Day one of the gallbladder flush. Then, at night, just before bed, blend a half cup "first cold press" olive oil and a half cup lemon juice mixed with grapefruit juice and optional ice cubes.
Mix the olive oil and juice together thoroughly like you would shake up a salad dressing. The smell is worse than the taste so if you can get past the smell you'll be alright.
After drinking the mixture, lie on your right side for at least a half an hour before going to sleep.
NOTE: An optional dose of Epsom salt 2-3 hours before the olive oil may help. Magnesium is both a laxative and helps dissolve stones that may contain calcium.
Day 3: When you wake up, you should have a bowel movement. If by the end of the morning you have not, take an enema. Stay on the diet the same as day one, but you may add some vegetable soup.
Repeat the olive oil drink that evening.
NOTE: During the gallbladder flush you may pass some small, dark black or green objects that look like shriveled peas. They are not gallstones. Gallstones are smaller than that. These 'peas' are created by the olive oil and bile. Olive oil causes bile to be flushed through the gallbladder to digest the fats. This flushes smaller stones out of the gallbladder. Since cholesterol is a major component of bile, a gallbladder flush also lowers cholesterol levels.
Herbal: Hydrangea - promotes break up of stone - 2-3 caps 3x daily
Cascara Sagrada - 1 - 3x a day - herbal laxative
Gallbladder Formula - 2-3x daily - for gallbladder cleansing and gas = start first
Aromatherapy: Rosemary, Lemon, Lavender (B,C,M,F)
***ALTERNATIVE***
If you are afraid to do a flush and are not yet to the point of it being an emergency, you can try some gentler methods.
The olive oil is one of the secrets to the gallbladder flush. It causes the bile to flow more rapidly through the gallbladder. Some have been successful taking smaller doses over time. you may try drinking 6 tablespoons of olive oil and 6 tablespoons of lemon juice every night for 30 days to flush the gallbladder. Be sure to take the Gallbladder Formula, Hydrangea , and Fibralgia throughout the entire month.
Fiber is also very important during this process so if you are not already taking a fiber supplement, be sure to add it in during the gallbladder flush.
Are you at risk for developing gallstones?
• Gallstones occur in up to 20 percent of American women and 10 percent of men by the age of 60.
• Women between the ages of 20 and 60 are three times more likely to develop gallstones than men, and women who have had multiple pregnancies are also more at risk.
• The risk of gallstones increases with age and with weight gain.
About 80 percent of people who have gallstones have no symptoms. These are called "silent" gallstones since they have no associated pain. Gallstones can cause you to experience severe abdominal pain, jaundice (yellowing of the skin and eyes), and inflammation of the gallbladder, bile ducts, liver or pancreas. Gas and indigestion are not specific symptoms of gallstones or gallbladder disease.
How are gallstones diagnosed?
Gallstones are usually diagnosed by ultrasound. Other procedures, such as x-rays, may also be used. Often silent gallstones are detected incidentally during the investigation of another problem.
If for some reason the flush is not enough or you are not comfortable doing a natural home remedy, there are two medical therapies to get rid of gallstones, leaving the gallbladder intact:
1. Oral Dissolution of gallstones by means of medication (ursodeoxycholic acid) involves no surgery and is therefore suitable in patients for whom surgery may be risky. The rate of success is variable (40-80 percent) and treatment usually requires at least six to twelve months. Recurrence is common. The best candidates are those with very small cholesterol gallstones and those who have mild symptoms.
2. Extracorporeal Biliary Lithotripsy is a procedure in which doctors find the gallstones using an ultrasound machine and position the patient so that high-energy shock waves focus on the stones. The waves break the gallstones into fragments, which either pass into the intestine or are dissolved with the help of medication. This treatment is performed in an outpatient setting; however, very few centers have this technique available.
