Enzyme Therapy

Enzyme therapy is one of the most important things you can do when you have fibromyalgia. Enzymes are the single most important element of your health and far outweigh the importance of any other nutrient. Nothing in the human body functions without enzymes making it happen.

How do enzymes work?

Enzymes are essential for maintaining optimal health. They are the energy catalysts which support everyday life-sustaining functions from the digestive system and immune systems to making energy available to the entire body.

By breaking down the various types of food into smaller compounds which can be readily absorbed by the body, enzymes help eliminate problems which can occur with fermented toxins in the digestive tract, such as gas, bloating, fatigue, headaches, constipation, heartburn, and other digestive disturbances.

Enzyme Definition

One definition of enzymes is that it is "any of various proteins, formed in plant and animal cells or made synthetically, that act as organic catalysts in initiating or speeding up specific chemical reactions and that usually become inactive or unstable above c. 50°C (122°F)".

That means that they are necessary for causing the process of digestion to occur. Yet when we cook foods or process them, we kill them.

Of course, we don't want the synthetic enzymes. So be sure to get a plant based enzyme formula.
